Agrievolution: the future of agriculture
The evolution of world agriculture, the new food crisis and the quality of the distribution of mechanization technologies are the themes for Agrievolution, the international summit on agriculture and mechanization opening tomorrow morning in Rome.
The event is sponsored by Unacoma, the Italian association of agricultural machinery manufacturers, a member of Confindustria, and is bringing together representatives from the governments and manufacturers associations of Brazil, India, Russia and the United States, other than the European countries.
In his inaugural statement, Geoffrey Mrema, the Director of FAO’s Infrastructure and Agri-industrial Division, will lay out a scenario on world agriculture to open a number of the issues on the agenda for the FAO food security summit conference scheduled for June 3 to 5 in Rome.
The Agrievolution summit, to be held in the Grand Hotel Plaza with participation on invitation only, will be fully televised by the Sky satellite channel 890 and available for video streaming at the site: www.agrievolution.com.
